The Twin River Braided Handmade Indoor-Outdoor Basket 3-piece set is available at LOOMLAN Outdoor with free shipping. Stash blankets in the largest 18 in. x 12 in. basket beside your sofa, stack the 14 in. x 10 in. on a shelf for magazines, and use the 10 in. x 8 in. for bath linens or toys.

How Well Does Texturized Polypropylene Hold Up to Rain and UV?

Texturized polypropylene is a high-tensile synthetic fiber that repels water on contact and resists ultraviolet degradation far better than natural woven materials. You can leave these baskets on a covered deck year-round -- they will not swell, fade to gray, or rot when wet. The flat-braid construction stays tightly woven even after repeated exposure to humidity and sun, so the shape holds firm whether you are storing outdoor cushions or wet pool towels. Because polypropylene dries quickly, mildew cannot take hold in the weave the way it does in jute or cotton.

Do You Need to Bring Them Inside for Winter?

You do not, but a covered spot is ideal. The polypropylene itself will not crack or split in freezing temperatures, and it sheds moisture instead of absorbing it, so ice damage is not a concern. Snow and standing water can still accumulate inside the baskets, though, so storing them upside down on a porch or in a shed keeps the interiors dry. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth in spring is usually all the cleaning they need.

Where Do These Baskets Work Best?

The largest basket makes sense on the living-room floor next to an outdoor accent chair or beside a deck sofa to corral throws and pillows. The medium size fits open shelving in a mudroom or bathroom, and the smallest holds rolled towels on a vanity or toiletries on a shelf. Because they nest when not in use, you can tuck the whole set into a closet until you need extra storage. Pair them with other handmade storage pieces from our collection, or use them to anchor texture alongside woven outdoor benches and outdoor bar stools. Store them upside down to prevent water from pooling inside.

Will the colors fade in direct sun?

Polypropylene is UV-resistant, so the multi-color bands hold their tone far longer than natural-fiber baskets, though prolonged direct sun will eventually lighten any dyed fiber. Covered outdoor areas prevent the fastest fading.

How many blankets fit in the largest basket?

The 18 in. x 12 in. basket typically holds three to four lightweight throws or two heavier blankets when folded.

Is polypropylene better than seagrass for outdoor storage?

Yes -- seagrass absorbs moisture and can mildew or split when exposed to rain, while polypropylene repels water and dries quickly without rotting.

Do these ship assembled?

Yes, each basket arrives fully woven and ready to use.
